Born on September 25, 1985 in Tyrone, Georgia, Calvin Johnson has grown into one of the best college football wide receivers of all time. His rare combination of speed, size, strength, and athletic ability make him difficult to guard no matter who is lining up opposite him. Johnson stands 6 foot 5 inches tall, and weighs close to 240 pounds. To go along with this he has 4.3 speed, and a vertical leap of more than 47 inches! Johnson started his football career at Sandy Creek High School. As a senior he put up average numbers, but not anything that would blow you away. During his senior season Johnson pulled in 40 balls totaling 736 yards. He added a modest eight touchdowns on top of this. His career high school numbers were 80 catches for 1,479 yards and 18 touchdowns. Despite not having the best stats among high school receivers, college coaches came from all over to see what Johnson had to offer. Of course, the main reason for this was his huge upside potential. During his senior year he was pegged as one of the top 10 players in the entire country, as well as one of the best in the state of Georgia. This led to a highly contested recruiting war which was eventually won by the Georgia Institute of Technology, or Georgia Tech as it is also known. During his time at Georgia Tech Johnson made a name for himself. In fact, many people believe he is the best receiver to ever play at the school; and that is saying a lot considering the players who have come before him. In three seasons as a wide receiver at Georgia Tech, Johnson totaled 2,927 yards on 178 receptions. He also contributed 28 touchdowns. After losing to the West Virginia University Mountaineers in the 2007 Toyota Gator Bowl, Johnson declared himself eligible for the upcoming NFL Draft.

Go high go far go fast an air kicks anti gravity boots review
A few days back, I got hold of a set of air kicks anti gravity boots, and sure they are about the coolest thing since roller blades. Let me explain to you what air kicks really are, especially for those who are not familiar with … (the rest of you can just skip ahead). Basically air kick boots are actually like a pogo stick on a shoe. There is a sort of lemon shaped spring mechanism on the bottom of each one of the air kicks boots, which turns every step into a bouncing leap. Just when you start to walk along, you feel as though you have no weight at all and feel bouncy like walking on the moon in your air kicks anti gravity boots, which is on the whole a pretty cool sensation, I am sure you will agree. What’s more about my air kicks boots is that they really make exercise fun. Both my older brother and dad are joggers, and in spite of all their efforts to get me to join them for quite a while, I have never really been too keen on it. It’s just too boring, that I can’t get myself to do it. Its simply tiresome work that at the end of the day will hurt my shins and ankles. Though now I can act as if I am walking along on the moon using my air kick boots, it sure is more fun and I can even get into it in a way that I never have before. I can’t find the words to describe what it is that makes air kicks so much fun, but in some way I guess it has to do with the kinds of fantasies that we dream of. For sure, there are those who dream of becoming an astronaut at some time or another, everyone likes unusual sensations. Maybe that’s why roller coasters have been quite popular! I have to admit though, when I got my first air kicks I was a bit disappointed. Alright, maybe I was a lot disappointed. Personally I had rather unrealistic expectations of what air kicks boots would be like. I always pictured catapulting twenty feet between strides. Though this may have seemed pretty impossible, I never really sat down and thought about this. Sure, if I had, I would have realized how strange it was, but at times I just kind of let myself get lost in the daydream. Despite the fact that my air kicks anti gravity boots did not really fit the reality of my fantasy, they are still really cool. As you may have ample of time to move around between each bounce, they are not only fun to dance to but also allow you to do splits in the air along with other awesome moves!

Service the opening gun of tennis
SERVICE-THE OPENING GUN OF TENNIS. Service is the opening gun of tennis. It is putting the ball in play. The old idea was that service should never be more than merely the beginning of a rally.
With the rise of American tennis and the advent of Dwight Davis and Holcombe Ward, service took on a new significance. These two men originated what is now known as the American Twist delivery. From a mere formality, service became a point winner. Slowly it gained in importance, until Maurice E. M'Loughlin, the wonderful "California Comet," burst across the tennis sky with the first of those terrific cannon-ball deliveries that revolutionized the game, and caused the old-school players to send out hurry calls for a severe footfault rule or some way of stopping the threatened destruction of all ground strokes.
M'Loughlin made service a great factor in the game. It remained for R. N. Williams to supply the antidote that has again put service in the normal position of mere importance, not omnipotence. Williams stood in on the delivery and took it on the rising bound.
Service must be speedy. Yet speed is not the be-all and end-all. Service must be accurate, reliable, and varied. It must be used with discretion and served with brains.
Any tall player has an advantage over a short one, in service. Given a man about 6 feet and allow him the 3 feet added by his reach, it has been proved by tests that should he deliver a service, perfectly flat, with no variation caused by twist or wind, that just cleared the net at its lowest point (3 feet in the centre), there is only a margin of 8 inches of the service court in which the ball can possibly fall; the remainder is below the net angle. Thus it is easy to see how important it is to use some form of twist to bring the ball into court. Not only must it go into court, but it must be sufficiently speedy that the receiver does not have an opportunity of an easy kill. It must also be placed so as to allow the server an advantage for his next return, admitting the receiver puts the ball in play.
Just as the first law of receiving is to, put the ball in play, so of service it is to cause the receiver to fall into error. Do not strive unduly for clean aces, but use your service to upset the ground strokes of your opponent. Service should be hit from as high a point as the server can COMFORTABLY reach.
To stretch unnecessarily is both wearing on the server and unproductive of results. Varied pace and varied speed is the keynote to a good service. The slice service should be hit from a point above the right shoulder and as high as possible. The server should stand at about a forty-five degree angle to the baseline, with both feet firmly planted on the ground. Drop the weight back on the right foot and swing the racquet freely and easily behind the back.
Toss the ball high enough into the air to ensure it passing through the desired hitting plane, and then start a slow shift of the weight forward, at the same time increasing the power of the swing forward as the racquet commences its upward flight to the ball. Just as the ball meets the racquet face the weight should be thrown forward and the full power of the swing smashed into the service. Let the ball strike the racquet INSIDE the face of the strings, with the racquet travelling directly towards the court.
The angle of the racquet face will impart the twist necessary to bring the ball in court. The wrist should be somewhat flexible in service. If necessary lift the right foot and swing the whole body forward with the arm. Twist slightly to the right, using the left foot as a pivot. The general line of the racquet swing is from RIGHT to LEFT and always forward.
At this point and before I take up the other branches of serving, let me put in a warning against footfaulting. I can only say that a footfault is crossing or touching the line with either foot before the ball is delivered, or it is a jump or step. I am not going into a technical discussion of footfaults.
It is unnecessary, and by placing your feet firmly before the service there is no need to footfault. It is just as unfair to deliberately footfault as to miscall a ball, and it is wholly unnecessary. The average footfault is due to carelessness, over-anxiety, or ignorance of the rule. All players are offenders at times, but it can quickly be broken up.

Mountain bikes that fit
Most mountain bikes are made to fit a man's proportions, and so it's easy for them to find the right sized bike. Women have more difficulty, as they are typically shorter then men, and with shorter torsos. Care must be taken to find the right-sized bike. Whenever you buy a new bike, for yourself or for your children, it is important that you get a bike that is the right size. If the bike doesn't fit, it will ruin the enjoyment of biking altogether, and if you or your child continue to ride the bike, can even cause knee or back injuries, as they try to compensate for the poor fit. A great many people buy bikes for their children from department stores or discount stores like Target and Walmart. However, this is a bad idea, as the bikes there are the bottom of the range, and are put together by people who are not necessarily properly trained in the task. (Have you ever looked at the furniture they put together?) And if you are fortunate enough to even find someone to help you in the "sports section," they still probably won't know anything about how to help you fit the bike properly. It's best, therefore, to buy a bike from a bike shop - you'll be able to get expert advice, and the bike shop personnel will be able to answer your questions. However, it's also important that you familiarize yourself with the terminology and principles of bike fitting, so that you can appreciate what the bike people tell you. Because there are bikes specially designed for every niche sport, the fit you want differs from bike to bike. Remember also that the majority of adult bikes are made for adult males, and that adult women are typically shorter then men, and weigh less. They also may have long legs, but shorter torsos. So women have a more difficult time finding bikes that fit. Fortunately in the last several years women-specific bikes have been designed by companies such as Terry (they make only women-specific bikes), and from other major companies with a women's bike division. When the average person thinks of a "woman's bike" - he or she thinks of those bikes in which the top tube is not horizontal, as in a "men's bike," but sloping. This type of bike is easier to mount if you're wearing a skirt, but in the general scheme of things they are not as sturdy as a "man's bike" and should be avoided. So, go to a bike shop and look around at their vast array of bikes. Does the bike fit? When you stand astride a bike - you'll want plenty of room between yourself and the top tube. (This is called the "standover height.") It is best to have around four to six inches of clearance between the tube and your crotch. If you have to come to a stop suddenly, you'll appreciate that this clearance is important - and you don't ever want to ride on a bike - even for a few minutes - if you're too short for it, because you'll learn your lesson painfully. Saddle height Have someone hold the bike still while you sit on it. Extend one leg down to the pedal at its lowest extension...your leg should not be at full extension, but rather slightly bent. Only when this occurs is the saddle at the correct height. Also, always ensure that the seat is level - tilting it forward or backward for whatever reason will ony lead to discomfort. If you're planning on mountain biking or going over any kind of uneven terrain, you'll be rising off your bike seat all the time, in reacting to the terrain. You'll probably lower the saddle an inch or so to compensate for all that jouncing around. Top Tube If you're a woman, pay careful attention to the length of the top tube, which separates you from the handlebars. You don't want to have to stretch forward uncomfortably while you ride. Handlebars If you already own a bike and want to have the handlebars raised or lower by purchasing a new stem through which the handlebars go, that costs money. But when you're being fitted out with a new bike, the store employees can exchange those with no problem. And again, this is something that a discount store can't do. When you find a bike you like, take it out for a test ride. Indeed, don't just settle for test riding one bike. There are many different types of bikes on the market - frames made of different materials, full suspension or front suspension, etc. that you'll want to get the feel of each one of them. After you've had the experience of riding various different kinds of bikes, you'll be able to make your own decision in a more informed manner.

The queen of soccer mia hamm biography
Women's soccer never would have been the same if Mia Hamm hadn't started up soccer when she was little. She had such an impact on women's soccer that she is often thought to mean as much for it as Pele or Cruyff meant for men's soccer. But before being a great soccer player and athlete that broke down almost every possible record at her level, Mia Hamm is a great person and I'd like you to meet the human behind the soccer god in this Mia Hamm biography. If you're like me, you're probably wondering how and when did Mia Hamm start playing soccer and what events drove her to become a super star of women's soccer. Mia Hamm's childhood circled around sports and athleticism and as her brother recalled, she was faster and more athletic than most of the boys on the block, so she was able to play competitively with and against them. After taking up youth soccer training at her school's football team when she was only 12 years old, she learned the basics of soccer and started enjoying the sport more and more. Little did she know that three years later, when she was just 15, she would be called up for the United States national women’s soccer team, becoming the youngest player ever to play for her country at that level (one of her first broken records). That was kind of a weird situation, since Mia Hamm was a soccer player for her national squad but didn't have a fully professional playing contract with a club. But after seeing her performances, the North Carolina Tar Heels quickly signed her and they made quite a deal, since Mia Hamm stayed with the club for 4 seasons, scoring over 100 goals during her time here. Probably one of Mia Hamm's most important accomplishments is that she managed to bring women’s soccer to a level close to what men are playing. She is one of the two women named in Pele’s "List of 125 Best Soccer Players of All Times" and she is a symbol of women's sports throughout the World. She also holds two FIFA World Player of the Year awards, which she got in 2001 (the first year the trophy was given) and 2002. Unfortunately, she would have gotten a lot more of these awards, but with the World Player of the Year awards being granted for women when Mia Hamm was already nearing the end of her career, she didn't really have a chance to widen her trophy room. In numbers, Mia Hamm was the United States top goal scorer, with 158 goals in 275 matches, a remarkable record that will probably dust and rust before it is beaten. She scored more goals than any man or woman for her national team, although many soccer specialists will agree that the level of women's soccer is still in an early grade and cannot be compared to men’s soccer yet. She won the Women's World Cup twice, in 1991 and 1999 and also put the US national team through a Gold Medal at the Olympic Games in 1996. All these titles, records and awards make Mia Hamm one of the most important players in women's soccer and the fact that Pele considered to put her on the same list as legendary male players such as Maradona, Cruyff, Platini or Beckenbauer says a lot about the influence she had in the game.

Custom poker chips the who what how and why
Custom poker chips are a good gift to give to someone or a gift to buy for yourself. Why? Because you make them to suit your own taste. What are custom poker chips exactly? Simply, they are chips that will fit into your next game, because they are personalized to your club or group of friends. You can get them made for you; or if you have a bit of time on your hands, you can do-it-yourself. Why would anyone want custom poker chips? Well, they make great gifts for other people. For example, if you are going to get married soon, instead of getting your groomsmen and ushers cuff links or something that they won’t ever use again? Why not give them custom poker chips to show your gratitude? If you have a weekly poker game at your home, and it’s the same group of guys playing, you might want to get custom poker chips to show that you are a group. Or, if you are going to enter into a casual local tournament (or host your own), you might want to have custom poker chips to pass out and celebrate the event. Wives and girlfriends never know what to get their guys for Christmas and their birthdays, so this is a great solution to getting bad presents. Just give her a hint on what you want your custom poker chips to say (otherwise they might say “I love you snookie!”). Even better yet, design the chip with the artwork and wording and give it to her on a disk. That way she can give you exactly what you want, and you won’t get another sweater that you will never wear. You both can be happy. How do you order custom poker chips? One way is to do-it-yourself. DIY is not as complicated as it sounds. So don’t worry, you aren’t going to be hovering over your printer printing out a thousand little stickers to place on your poker chips. Instead you are going to send a company your artwork and your wording, and they print the stickers professionally on paper that is meant for this purpose. They send you the stickers and you put them on the chips yourself. One advantage is that it isn’t 100% permanent. If you order the labels and don’t like how it looks, you can always change your mind and not put them on the chips. Another advantage is that it is cheaper than if you have someone else do the customization job for you. The second method is to have a company do the work for you. In this case you design your chip, send them the artwork and the wording, and they send you back a set of custom poker chips that have your design permanently printed on them. The advantage of this is that it isn’t a label, and the work is all done for you. You don’t have to waste a lot of game time putting stickers on your chips. Your design is also more permanent, it will never scratch or wear off, because it isn’t a sticker or label: your design is part of the chip. This method is usually more expensive than buying the labels, but the look of it is definitely worth it. The next time you want to commemorate a special occasion or buy a gift for someone who loves to play cards, consider a gift of custom poker chips. You can get them to suit any poker player’s taste and style, and custom poker chips won’t break the bank.
